Delwin R. Hemingway, DDS

Delwin R. Hemingway, DDS has the expertise and experience to give his patients the level of comfort, appearance enhancement, and health they desire. He has been able to transform more than smiles; patients often leave with a remarkable boost in self-confidence. His expertise in neuromuscular dentistry offers patients relief from years of headaches and other pain associated with bite (occlusion) and jaw tension problems. Dr. Hemingway believes that listening to his patients’ desires and expectations is a critical part of providing exceptional care, and he is dedicated to serving you with unique, individualized dentistry.

Dr. Hemingway received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1975. He went on to study dentistry at Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, graduating with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1979. Practicing since 1979, Dr. Hemingway stays on the leading edge of modern dentistry with ongoing course studies, such as advanced training for esthetic dentistry from the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. He has also completed post-graduate studies in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, dental implants, sedation, lasers, orthodontics, and endodontics.

Knowing from experience that you only get what you work for, Dr. Hemingway is dedicated to the community. He has served at La Joya School Site Council for the Santa Rita School District, as an Explorer Post Advisor, and as a Boy Scout leader for Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Hemingway enjoys teaching. He teaches the Family Relations course for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dr. Hemingway and his wife Janice are the proud parents of eight children and the grandparents of twenty-one grandchildren. Each of their children are successful in their own careers, including emergency physician, dentist, lawyer, high school teacher, internet marketing director, small business owners, and property managers. He enjoys gardening, carpentry, construction, and landscape design. During the summer of 2013, he built a tree house with a 180-foot-long zip-line with three of his sons and five of his grandsons.

Dr. Jenny Hong

Before entering dental school, Dr. Jenny Hong was working by the benchside, investigating the pathogenesis of genetically-determined diseases. She has published multiple papers in regards to her research, and received multiple research grants and awards to support her research. Dr. Hong received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors in 2018 from University of Toronto. She continued to do research during dental school, and was awarded a second prize at the International Academy of Dental Research conference in 2016 for her summer research project where she helped to develop an antimicrobial adhesive material to prevent caries around tooth fillings. After dental school, Dr. Hong completed a residency program at Temple University, Philadelphia where she gained experience in implant placement, periodontal surgeries, and complex restorative procedures.

Dr. Hong has a strong interest in implant dentistry and aesthetic dentistry. She has helped patients in restoring their smile by providing solutions to replace their missing teeth, offering them a better aesthetic and functional capabilities. Dr. Hong believes in the importance of providing individualized care to every patient, and that stems from listening to the needs of her patients.

Dr. Hong is an active member of Spear Education and where she continues to learn about functional occlusion and using digital workflow to design restorations and plan for implant surgeries. She is also a certified Invisalign provider since 2018. To continue to stay on top of current dental technology and theories, Dr. Hong continuously attends education courses, and is a member of many associations including,

Dr. Hong is an avid cellist and a home cook. Her favorite cello pieces are written by Bach. Her favorite food to cook is pork belly. She is also an avid LEGO collector, particularly the modular housing units. She also enjoys traveling, hiking and biking in the bay area, art shows and museums, and currently planning out her next dive to see the coral reefs.
