Dr. Vazquez, DDS
Dr. Vazquez believes in listening to her patients and helping them make high quality, informed decisions with regard to their dental health. After graduating from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine in 2005, Dr Vazquez felt the need to give back to her community and provided dentistry and education to vulnerable populations as a National Health Service Corp Scholar. She then moved to San Francisco where she owned and operated a boutique dental practice from 2013-2019 providing cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Vazquez is a delegate with the American Dental Association and sits on two national committees. She was born in South America and grew up in the Reno-Tahoe area. She earned her B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Dr. Hong, DDS
Before entering dental school, Dr. Jenny Hong was working by the benchside, investigating the pathogenesis of genetically-determined diseases. She has published multiple papers in regards to her research, and received multiple research grants and awards to support her research. Dr. Hong received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors in 2018 from University of Toronto. She continued to do research during dental school, and was awarded a second prize at the International Academy of Dental Research conference in 2016 for her summer research project where she helped to develop an antimicrobial adhesive material to prevent caries around tooth fillings. After dental school, Dr. Hong completed a residency program at Temple University, Philadelphia where she gained experience in implant placement, periodontal surgeries, and complex restorative procedures.
Dr. Hong has a strong interest in implant dentistry and aesthetic dentistry. She has helped patients in restoring their smile by providing solutions to replace their missing teeth, offering them a better aesthetic and functional capabilities. Dr. Hong believes in the importance of providing individualized care to every patient, and that stems from listening to the needs of her patients.
Dr. Hong is an active member of Spear Education and CDOCS.com where she continues to learn about functional occlusion and using digital workflow to design restorations and plan for implant surgeries. She is also a certified Invisalign provider since 2018. To continue to stay on top of current dental technology and theories, Dr. Hong continuously attends education courses, and is a member of many associations including,

Dr. Hong is an avid cellist and a home cook. Her favorite cello pieces are written by Bach. Her favorite food to cook is pork belly. She is also an avid LEGO collector, particularly the modular housing units. She also enjoys traveling, hiking and biking in the bay area, art shows and museums, and currently planning out her next dive to see the coral reefs.
Wendy, RDA – Team/Patient Coordinator
Wendy has worked in the dental field for over eighteen years, and she joined our team at NEXT Dentistry in 2005. A very versatile member of our dental team, she is a state-licensed registered dental assistant, is certified in CPR, and is trained in AED. In Wendy’s opinion, the best part of our practice is that we are able to create healthy, beautiful smiles free from worry or pain by using comfort-focused amenities and technology. When she isn’t working hard to improve your smile and our practice, you might find Wendy camping and traveling with her family.
Nancy, RDAEF2 – Clinical Treatment Coordinator
Nancy joined the NEXT Dentistry team in 2013. She received her Dental Extended Functions II certification following the completion of a series of advanced courses from the University of California San Francisco and the Expanded Functions Dental Assistants Association in Fullerton, California. Nancy is in an elite group of dental professionals in Monterey County to have achieved this certification. She loves working with our great staff and building relationships with our patients. Nancy and her husband, Zeke, have 1 daughter and 4 sons.Outside of the office, Nancy cherishes time with her family, enjoys many sporting activities, travel and many outdoor activities with her loved ones.
Petra, RDH – Periodontal Therapist
Since 1996, Petra has worked at our Salinas, California dental office. She enjoys the long-lasting relationships she has built with our patients over the years. Petra graduated from the dental hygiene program at Cabrillo College in 1996. She is dedicated to helping her patients achieve and maintain their beautiful, healthy smiles through education as well as utilizing the latest technology and best information and techniques. Away from work, she enjoys weekend barbeques with her family, cycling, sightseeing, and hiking.
Sam, RDH – Registered Dental Hygienist
Sam graduated from Fresno City College Dental Hygiene Program in 2007. Ever since then his goal is to make every appointment as thorough and comfortable as possible. In his free time, he enjoys working out, watching sports, and visiting family.
Daisy – Insurance coordinator
Lived in Monterey County whole life. On my spare time, I love taking road trips to visit new scenes with family, friends and/or boyfriend. Big on country music and is what I mainly listen to. Hikes are important to my bf and I during the summer and like to explore a new park each week.
